A personal safety brand that needed technology as reliable as their hardware because when someone reaches for a safety device, there's no margin for software that hesitates, fails to connect, or sends an alert a second too late.
Challenge:
Plegium's hardware- pepper spray, siren, and strobe LEDs in one device was innovative, but the app couldn't keep up. It didn't reliably connect with the hardware, so activation didn't always trigger an instant response. Emergency alerts with location data needed to reach contacts the moment a device activated, with zero room for failure, and the app lacked the polish a safety product demands.
Solution:
Zennaxx rebuilt the app from the ground up, starting with how hardware and software communicated and where the integration broke down. We built an automated activation system that fires the siren, strobe LEDs, and pepper spray together while sending SMS alerts with a live location link to emergency contacts. The interface was rebuilt around clarity and speed, and we shaped a positioning strategy to help Plegium stand out from conventional safety devices.
Result:
The rebuilt app launched on iOS and Android with reliable hardware integration and emergency alerting that holds up under pressure. Users and contacts now trust that activation triggers an instant response with no manual steps and Plegium remains a Zennaxx partner as its product line grows.
